The Short Version
We collect almost nothing. We don’t sell your data. We don’t track you across the internet. We’re here to help people avoid scams, not to become one.
What We Collect
If you subscribe to our email list: Your email address. That’s it. We use it to send you new investigations and scam alerts. You can unsubscribe anytime with one click.
Analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand which articles help the most people. GA4 collects anonymized usage data — things like which pages you visit and how long you stay. We don’t see your name, email, or anything that identifies you personally.
Server logs: Our host (Cloudways) logs standard technical data — IP address, browser type, pages visited — for security and performance. We don’t mine this data or use it for marketing.
What We Don’t Do
- We don’t sell your data. To anyone. Ever.
- We don’t use advertising trackers.
- We don’t track you across other websites.
- We don’t share your information with third parties for marketing.
Cookies
Cloudflare: Our CDN (Cloudflare) may set a security cookie (__cf_bm) to distinguish humans from bots. It’s not used for tracking.
Google Analytics: GA4 uses first-party cookies to understand traffic patterns. These cookies don’t identify you personally and don’t follow you to other sites.
WordPress: If you leave a comment, WordPress may set a session cookie. No tracking involved.
Children’s Privacy
ScamInsight is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has shared personal data with us, contact us and we’ll delete it immediately.
Your Rights
Whether you’re in California (CCPA), Europe (GDPR), or anywhere else — you have the right to:
- Know what data we have about you (probably just your email, if you subscribed)
- Request we delete it
- Opt out of any data collection
- Get a copy of your data
